A Wix alternative: you can leave without an export
Your company has grown and the Wix site is starting to feel small. But Wix itself says the site can't be exported or hosted elsewhere. That's not spite, it's how the platform is built. So we work from what's publicly visible and move it to SQRL 1:1.
What can leave Wix and what can't
Whether you come to us or go elsewhere, this applies:
According to Wix, the content you create on your site belongs to you. But you can't take the working site with you.
You can't back up your site outside Wix. You only get version history and a duplicate within your account.
Wix doesn't support an embedded site and warns that search engines may not work properly with it.
You can point your domain elsewhere or transfer it to another registrar. See below.
What to do with your domain
The domain and the website are two different things. Handle them separately and the move won't break anything.
Finish the new site first
Leave the domain alone until the new site has been checked. While we build, we hide it from search engines.
Then change the DNS
You only need to change where the domain points. The site doesn't move, visitors just start seeing the new one.
Transfer the domain later, if at all
You don't need to transfer to another registrar for the move. A transfer disconnects the domain from your Wix site, and most domains can't be transferred in the first 60 days after registration. A DNS change isn't subject to that limit, though it can take up to 48 hours to spread.
What you get after the move
A website you can take with you
It runs with us, with you, or at a regular hosting provider. The code and data are yours, so you won't have this problem next time.
A catalog with filters
Products or services become items with fields and filters. Customers choose by parameters.
Editing right on the page
Click a heading and type. Swapping an image is just as easy.
When to stay on Wix
A few pages you edit yourself, and nothing's holding you back.
Orders, payments and bookings live in one place. SQRL has no cart or payments, and we'd handle bookings case by case.
FAQ
No. The public website and your consent are enough.
Yes. Seeding, which fills the site with data automatically, adds them. Nobody retypes them.
Nobody can honestly guarantee rankings. Whatever can stay at the same address does, and the rest gets a 301, a permanent redirect.
The step-by-step process is on the Migrate to SQRL page.

We'll go through your Wix site with you and tell you what moves on its own and what we'd handle case by case.
There's no export. There is a way out.
